一般硬度不大,与稀反应剧烈。石灰具有导热性、坚固性、吸水性、不透气性、隔音性、磨光性、很好的胶结性能以及可加工性等优良的性能。实际运用:在建筑工业中用来生产水泥和烧制石灰;冶金工业用作熔剂;化学工业中用来制碱、漂及肥料等;食品工业中用作澄清剂;农业中用来改良土壤;在塑料工业中用作填料;在涂料工业中广泛用于做各种建筑涂料;在造纸工业中用作碱性料;在橡胶工业中用作橡胶的基本填料;在环保工业中用作吸附剂。
