●即使将很少量的TPE添加到PS、PE、PC和PP树脂中，就能有效地改善这些材料的韧度、和冲击强度和屈挠性能。材料的这种改性还改善了双轴取向PS的回弹性，所生成的热成型片膜的透明度没有太大损失。苯乙烯类TPES过改善了HDPE和LDPE吹塑膜的抗冲击强度和耐撕裂强度。PP和苯乙烯类TPE共混物的注塑成型产品具有相当高的低温抗冲击强度。如把苯乙烯类TPES添加到某些树脂回收料中，可以改善这些材料的性能。

●用少量的TPE进行沥青改性，从而改善了沥青的低温屈挠性、伸长特性和抗疲劳性能。这种改性材料已用作屋顶材料、管材涂料、池槽衬层、密封层。

●TPE由于它们与许多树脂都有一定的相容性，所以在两种或更多种通常不相容的高聚物形成合金过程中，TPE有时可作为相容剂使用。
